The Grim Series by Rachel Stanley

I first discovered Rachel as a writer on Instagram and soon found out what a supportive person she is to her fellow indie authors. When I first met her A Grim Affair was the only book published. I was intrigued by it and took a chance on reading it. Well this book got me hooked on the characters immediately. Rachels style of writing soon had me immersed in the lives of Emma, Ellie and ultimately The Grim Reaper (but don't call him that, he doesn't like it) aka The Keeper of Souls.

A Grim Affair was followed by A Grim Haunt, and A Grim Ending completed the series. I don't want to give away any spoilers in this review, there is nothing worse when you start on a series to have someone ruining the ending.

What I will say is that Emma was leading a normal life, working in a vets and living with her two cats, but that changed when The Keeper of Souls began appearing in her dreams. A connection between the two of them leads to a wonderful story. The story is filled with humour, intrigue and adventure and you would be hard pressed to put the books down once you start to read them.

The characters are well written and I would happily include them in my friendship group if they were real, yes even The Keeper of Souls - I am odd like that too! LOL.

A highly recommended series to get stuck into!

A Grim Affair

Emma lives a normal life, so normal that even her own mother has been known to accuse her of being boring.

Emma’s nice, normal, safe life is now long since forgotten. Not only is she soulmates with Blake, the Grim Reaper, but she’s just found out that he’s the only interdimensional gatekeeper in all of existence.

Having survived a stalker and outfoxed a poltergeist, Emma now faces an even greater threat, and this time it’s not just her life that’s at stake, it’s the fate of the whole world.

To make matters worse, Emma is betrayed by someone that she thought she could trust and if she can’t trust her nearest and dearest, what hope is there?
